Rebecca A. Reynolds, born on August 20, 1941, in Winchester, Indiana, was a woman of strength, resilience, and unwavering faith. She passed away on February 29, 2024, leaving behind an enduring legacy of love and dedication. As Albert Schweitzer once said, "The only ones among you who will be really happy are those who will have sought and found how to serve." Rebecca's life was a testament to this statement, as she dedicated her life to serving her family, her faith, and her community.
Rebecca moved to Farmland, Indiana, where she spent 70 remarkable years, creating a beautiful life tapestry. She tied the knot with her beloved James "Doug" Reynolds on January 31, 1991, and together, they built a life filled with love and shared experiences. Rebecca had a fulfilling career as an Administrator at Hobley's Insurance Agency, from which she retired in 1999. She was not only a dedicated professional but also a creative soul who found joy in oil painting, crossword puzzles, and was known as a beautiful seamstress. A woman of many talents, Rebecca was also an active member of the Euchre Club and the Farmland Congregational Church. Her commitment to her faith and community was truly awe-inspiring.
Rebecca is survived by her daughter, Brenda George; her grandsons, Tyler (Kassi) George and Christian George; her granddaughter, Ainsley George (Fiance', Patrick Lopez); her great-grandchildren, Cam and Keira George; her brother, Ed (Janet) Smithson; and her four nieces. Preceding her in death were her father, Kenneth Smithson; her mother, Velma Smithson; and her husband, James Reynolds. Rebecca believed in the power of family and faith, and she lived her life with a robust commitment to both. She was a pillar of strength and an embodiment of unconditional love. As we bid farewell to Rebecca, we remember her not only for her accomplishments but for the warmth and love she radiated. We welcome you to share your memories, stories, and photos of Rebecca on the memorial page at www.wilsonshookfh.com. Let us celebrate her life and keep her memory alive.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2024 at the Farmland Congregational Christian Church, 212 N Main St., Farmland, IN 47340. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery at a later date.
