Anita June Shaffer, 88, of Farmland, IN passed-away early Friday morning, December 18, 2020 at Randolph Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Winchester, IN. She was born October 12, 1932 in Delaware County, Indiana the daughter of Otto E. and Grace (Hawk) Oxley. She was a graduate of Center High School, Selma, IN.
Anita was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending her leisure time gardening, working on home projects and listening to music and attending music concerts.
She leaves to cherish her memory five children, Brenda Eckhardt (husband, Brett) of Daleville, IN, Mike Shaffer (wife, Kim) of Farmland, IN, Laura Winningham, Marcia Bane, both of Indianapolis, IN and Zane; IN; 12 grandchildren, Adrienne LeMay, Kylie Eckhardt, Olivia Eckhardt, Ashley Eckhardt, Cody Eckhardt, Chelsea Eckhardt, Kent Shaffer (wife, Terri), Andrea Stevenson (husband, Bo), Daniel Shaffer (wife, Stephanie), Mitchell Bane, Kaitlyn Winningham and Ashleigh Ray; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a husband, Kennard Leon Shaffer; three brothers, Loren, Bob and Junior; three sisters, Delores Brown, Mary Ellen Pinkerton and Naomi Heeter; and a grandson, Alex Shaffer.
Due to concerns surrounding Covid-19, there will be a graveside service 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Buena Vista Cemetery of Unionport, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to a food pantry of the donor’s choice, in Anita’s memory.
