Celia LaVerne Winans, 99, of Farmland, IN passed away Thursday afternoon, November 25, 2021 with family by her side. She was born February 22, 1922 in Blackford County, IN the daughter of Guy and Hazel (Dill) Love. She was a 1940 graduate of Roll High School.
Celia retired as a self employed beautician. She had also worked as a cashier at Ross’s Corner in Muncie, IN. She was a member of Parker United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star and White Shrine.
She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Richard Winans (wife, Marlene); a daughter, Sondra A. Farrell (husband, Dan); son-in-law, Fred Godwin; five sisters, Margaret Slentz, Irene Lutherbeck, Carolyn McDugle, Betty Rinker and Marolyn Love; a brother, Myron Love; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter “Bud” Winans; a daughter, Sharon K. Goddin; a son, Don Winans; two grandsons, Steve Winans and Stephen Goddin; four sisters, Dorothy Jester, Maxine Halas, Leah Love and Mary Jean Carver; five brothers, Keith Love, Harold Love, Larry Love, Lavaughn Love and Gerald Love.
A service to celebrate Celia’s life will be 12 noon Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Burial will follow in Black Cemetery of Albany, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 10:00 am to service time on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
