Charles "Bud" Conwell

Charles “Bud” W. Conwell, 90, of Selma, IN passed away Thursday afternoon, January 20, 2022, at IU Health, Ball Memorial Hospital of Muncie, IN. He was born February 25, 1931, in Muncie, IN the son of Homer and Mary Ellen (Smithson) Conwell. He was a 1949 graduate of Center School. He was married to Lois Ann Hulse, November 5, 1950.

Bud, a lifelong farmer, remained active in farming until age 85, retiring in 2016. He drove a school bus for Liberty Perry Schools for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Perry Township Advisory Board and Philadelphia Congregational Church, but recently attended Harris Creek Church of the Nazarene.  He was past President of Union Cemetery Board and a past member of the Delaware County Farm Bureau Cooperative Board of Directors.

He was a fan of the Wapahani Band and followed his children and grandchildren in extracurricular activities. He was always at the county fair watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Linda Hiatt (Keith), Kerry Garrett (John) and Kristi Conwell; two sons, Kevin Conwell (Lynn) and Brian Conwell (Jane); 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; as well as three nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois; one sister, Roberta Alley; a half-sister, Mabel Brooks; and a special friend, Kay Leeka.

A service to celebrate Bud’s life will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Harris Chapel Church of the Nazarene, 10450 S. CR 544 E. Selma, IN 47383 with Pastor Jim Ballenger officiating. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 26th at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN.  In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions to be made to Little Red Door East Central Indiana, 2311 W.
