Cletis Gillespie, Jr. Obituary

Cletis L Gillespie, Jr., a compassionate soul and dedicated family man, gently passed away on the 9th of December, 2023. Born in the quaint town of Gaston, Indiana on January 12, 1938, Cletis was a man of faith, love, and unwavering dedication. His adventurous spirit was manifested in his deep love for aviation, a hobby that brought joy and excitement to his life. A lifelong farmer, Cletis was as hardworking as he was loving, tirelessly toiling on his farm in Parker City from 1962 until his retirement in 1998.

Cletis was also an accomplished Production Manager at Indiana Steel & Wire until his retirement in 1996. Through his work, he exhibited his dedication and commitment, qualities that resonated with everyone he met. A man of faith, he found solace and strength in the Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church since 1988. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, shaping his actions and guiding his journey. "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord," Joshua 24:15, was a verse that Cletis lived by, his life a testament to his unwavering faith.

More than anything, Cletis was a family man. Married to his loving wife, Judith, on January 21, 1956, Cletis was a devoted husband, a loving father, a a proud grandfather and great grandfather. His love for his family was a beacon that illuminated his life, guiding him through every challenge and every joyous moment.

Cletis is survived by his beloved wife Judith, sons Ray (Terry), Brian, Jerry (Jennifer), seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cletis and Hazel Gillespie, and his brother Larry.
