With deep respect, we celebrate the life of Connie L. Norris, who was born on December 2, 1951, in Portland, Indiana. She was a beacon of ambitious spirit, inspiring others through her actions and achievements. Connie's life was marked by a deep love for her family, friends, and faith. She was a woman of compassion and love, always ready to extend a helping hand.
Connie's impactful life began with her early years in Mississinewa where she was a leader in the High School Band, playing the clarinet with gusto and grace. She was a member of the Honor Society and served as Secretary and Treasurer of her class. Her ambitious nature led her to a successful career as a Sales Director at Mary Kay Cosmetics, where she served for over 30 years. As Helen Keller once said, "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” Connie lived this quote, making the most of her career, while staying committed to her faith and family.
In her retirement, Connie’s heart continued to overflow with love for her community and her family. She was an active member of the Eagles Lodge, Women's Antlers, Elks Lodge, and led a Women's Bible Study. Connie's passion for reading, particularly murder mysteries, was only surpassed by her love for NASCAR, camping, and annual trips to her beloved beach condo in Florida. Her hobbies and community involvement were a testament to her zest for life and her compassion for others.
Connie is survived by her father, Jim; a daughter Crisann Holmes, step-son Jeremy (Tara) Norris, step-daughter Barbara (Gary) Charles, brother Robert Wentz, two grandsons, Caleb Holmes and Jesse Goney; and by her other 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, who will carry on her legacy of love and ambition. She was preceded in death by her mother Mildred Wentz, husband Clarence Norris, sister Amber Wentz-Davis, and her beloved grandmother Rena.
A visitation for Connie will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 4:00pm at Wilson-Shook Funeral Homes and Cremation Center (Fraze-Brooks Memorial Chapel) located at 432 West Pearl Street, Union City, Indiana, 47390.
