Don W Tomey

Don W. Tomey, 84, of Farmland, IN passed away Friday morning, May 14, 2021 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital of Muncie, IN. He was born November 11, 1936 in Muncie, IN the son of Don L. and Georgia Louise (Asdell) Tomey. He was a 1955 graduate of Central High School of Muncie, IN.

Don retired in 1983 after 30 years with Delco Battery of Muncie, IN. He was a member of the Farmland Lions Club and attended Selma Christ United Methodist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 65 years, Virginia Ruth (Songer) Tomey; two sons, Tony W. Tomey (wife, Genene) and Curtis D. Tomey; grandsons, Wesley C. Tomey, Dustin W. Tomey, Derek A. Tomey and Mathew S. Tomey; granddaughter, Crystal J. Tomey; 11 great grandchildren; a brother, Randy S. Tomey (wife, Joan) of Muncie; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Deborah Lynn Tomey; a grandson, Kyle Dean Tomey; great granddaughter, Lillian Grace Tomey; great grandson, Nolan Tomey; a brother, Danny Tomey; and a sister, Beverly Williams.

A service to celebrate Don’s life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery of Muncie, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 19th at the funeral home.
