Ellen Susan Elder, 88, of Albany, Indiana, passed away Friday, April 15, 2022, at Muncie Estates, formerly known as Elmcroft, Muncie, IN. She was born August 13, 1933, in Winchester, IN the daughter of Roy H and Julia Marie (Sexton) Ball. She was a 1951 graduate of Winchester High School.
Sue most recently practiced her art as a seamstress at Rivars Custom Show Apparel, retiring in 2002, after 15 years. She was a member of Farmland Friends Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Charles Robert Elder (wife, Wendy) of Pittsburg, PA, and John Michael Elder (wife, Rhonda) of Farmland, IN; three daughters, Rebecca Sue Hinshaw of Terre Haute, IN, Debra Ellen Mosier (husband, Dave) of Selma, IN and Angela Ruth Kelley (husband, Jeff) of West Chester, OH; two sisters, Gerri Green of Bedford, TX, and Roberta Jo Strong of Elephant Butte, NM; a sister-in-law, Gay Nel Ball of Hurst, TX; 12 grandchildren, Jessica Herald (Craig), Karl Herald (Lindsay), Charity Finney (Brad), Kaitlin Liska (Sam), Conner Elder, Craig Hinshaw (Kimberly), Nicole Bonham (Justin), Brian Hinshaw (Brenda), Rachel Mitchell (Joey), Mat Mosier, Bobby Kelley and Brooke Kelley; 12 great grandchildren, Nickolas, Jessica, MacKenzie, Avry, Cale, James, Jackson, Gage, Landen, Noah, Sandy, Gyllian, Jude, Farren, Hendrix, Hudson, Harley and Sterling. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Melvin Ball.
A service to celebrate Sue’s life will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN, with Pastor Debbie Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Park Cemetery of Winchester, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 12:00 p.m. to service time on Wednesday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Farmland Friends Church.
