Howard Patty, 94, of Parker City, IN, passed away Friday morning, December 16, 2022 at his home, with loving family and friends by his side. He was born April 15, 1928 in Randolph County, IN, the son of Gierluf Jenson and Clara Marie (Hall) Patty. He was a 1946 graduate of Stoney Creek High School. He honorably served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
Howard retired in 1983, after 37 years as a tool maker for Chevrolet Automotive. He was also a farmer in Randolph County. He was a member of Union Chapel Church of Parker City, IN. He enjoyed spending his leisure time dancing with his wife at various functions. He enjoyed woodworking, painting, playing pool and golf. He traveled all 50 states, Mexico, Germany and other European countries. He and his wife wintered in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.
He is survived by a son, Larry Patty of Muncie, IN; three grand children, Mary Ann Hines (husband, Tony) of Muncie, IN, Jamie Patty of Albany, IN and Travis Patty of Winchester, IN; four great grandchildren; a cousin, Joe Greene; and several nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Catherine (Hall) Patty; a son, Jerry Wayne Patty; brother, Vernon Patty; a sister, Maxine Patty; and a sister-in-law, Martha Ruble.
A service to celebrate Howards life will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Burial will follow in Buena Vista Cemetery of Unionport, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 11:00 a.m. to service time, at the funeral home.
