Joyce L (Helms) Fudge

Joyce L. Fudge, a woman of creative spirit, loving heart, witty humor, and ambitious drive, was born on November 22, 1954, in Winchester, Indiana. She lived a life that was full of color, joy, and boundless love for her family. Joyce was a loving wife, a devoted mother, a doting grandmother, and a caring friend. Her life story is a tapestry of love, laughter, and accomplishment, woven with threads of radiant color and texture. 

Joyce's career as an Activities Director at the Golden Rule Living Center in Richmond, IN, spanned over 20 years. The same ambition that drove her professional life was equally evident in her personal life. She was a dedicated wife to her husband, Donald Fudge, since their marriage on July 15, 1985. Their love story was a testament to their commitment and devotion, which remained strong and unwavering until her last day. Joyce was also a loving matriarch to her children, step-children, and siblings, including Shane Fudge, Cristy (Steve) Baker, Katie (Joseph) Tompkins, Calvin (Ana) Fudge, and Steve (Laurie) Helms. She was a beloved grandmother to eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Each one held a special place in Joyce's heart, and she cherished every moment spent with them. 

Joyce's hobbies reflected her creative side. She was passionate about sewing, coloring, and various arts and crafts. These activities were a testament to her creative spirit and an outlet for her vibrant imagination. In her retirement years, Joyce poured her heart into these hobbies, creating beautiful works of art that will be treasured by her loved ones. As Maya Angelou once said, "You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have." This quote perfectly encapsulates Joyce's life. Through her creativity, she left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. 

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, David and Joyce Helms, and her siblings, Mark Helms, and Phyllis Quinn. She leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and ambition that will live on in the hearts and minds of those who loved her.
