Judith (Judy) A. Bow died Thursday, February 15, 2024 at her Muncie home. She was born August 16, 1942 in Portland, Indiana, the daughter of Betty Smith (Sam) and Ralph Champ. Judy married Paul R. Bow on July 16, 1965. Judy was blessed to be the mother of Mona Bow Jennings (Randall) and Tabitha Bow.
Judy was a homemaker who enjoyed shopping and eating out with her daughters. Judy collected musical clocks and dolls. Judy’s best days included any day she could find a musical clock for a good price at a yard sale. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and great grandsons. In her younger days, Judy traveled the U.S. with Paul in their RV. One of her most memorable trips was traveling to the Rose Bowl Parade. Judy liked watching old westerns and black and white movies with her dog, Charlie, by her side. Judy was a member of the Meeker Avenue Church of Christ. She cherished the many friends she met while attending church services. She was especially grateful for the support of her church community during her illness.
Judy is survived by siblings Stanley Smith and Sam Smith, Jr., Portland, Indiana, Cindy Smith (Kathy), Mendon, Ohio, and Linda Toby (Rodney), Fort Recovery, Ohio, granddaughter Leslie Penix (Roy) Muncie, Indiana, grandson Kyle Jennings (Brittany Ficcaglia), Indianapolis, Indiana, great grandsons Eli and Zyler Penix, Muncie, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughters Mona and Tabitha, grandson Randall Jennings, brother Steven Smith, sister Helen Hammett and sister-in-law Josephine Smith (Sam).
The family invites friends to join with Judy’s church family to celebrate her life from 1:00pm-2:00pm at Meeker Avenue Church of Christ, Muncie, Indiana on Monday, February 19, 2024. Funeral celebration with Pastor Michael Hersey officiating will begin at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Maxville, Indiana.
