Judith Elaine Davenport, 80, of Dunkirk, IN passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at IU Health, Jay County Hospital of Portland, IN. She was born November 23, 1941 in East Chicago, IN the daughter of Joel Ramirez and Delma (Gibson) Bolen.
Judy retired in 1990 after more than 33 years as a seamstress with Jay Garment Company in Portland, IN.
She was a member of the Dunkirk Church of the Nazarene and the community euchre club. She was the organizer of the Dunkirk Community Concerns food bank. She enjoyed spending her leisure time watching game shows.
Judy leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Katrina Stewart (husband, Charlie) of Lebanon, TN, Tona Dunnuck (husband, Randy) and Tyrah Rodriguez (husband, Jesse), all of Albany, IN; a brother, Joe Ramirez of Athens, TN; 13 grandchildren, Karenda, Chad, Nathaniel, Kari, Nina, Brooke, Derek, Kyle, Stashia, Fulton, Stevie, Sami and Robert; and sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a husband, Robert; two sisters, Gloria “Cookie” Faris and Sheila Wagoner; and a brother, Phillip Ramirez.
A service to celebrate Judy’s life will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the Dunkirk Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in Dunkirk IOOF Cemetery. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 4th, at the church. Due to concerns surrounding Covid-19, it is recommended a mask be worn.
