Kyle Thomas Osgood, a charismatic and courageous man born on March 30, 1994, in Muncie, IN, passed away on May 25, 2023, in the line of duty as a firefighter. He was known to his friends and family as a loving husband, father, son and brother, always willing to help anyone in need. Kyle, a lifelong resident of Farmland, Indiana, dedicated 15 years of his life to the Farmland Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as the Assistant Chief. His dedication and service to the community will be deeply missed by his Fire Department Family and the Farmland community. Kyle's life was filled with laughter and love, as he often had friends and family in stitches with his funny wit and warm personality. He married Darby Osgood on June 29, 2019, and together they welcomed their son, Tyler, who was the center of Kyle's world. When he wasn't working at Culy Contracting in the TV & Clean Division, Kyle enjoyed camping, woodworking, gardening, and kayaking. He was always looking for ways to create memories and spend time with his loved ones. Kyle is survived by his wife, Darby; son, Tyler; parents, Michael and Amy Osgood; brothers, Cody (Jeanina) Osgood and Cole (Abby) Osgood; grandmother, Pamela DeReu; aunts and uncles, LeAnn (Jeff) Jones, Cindy Osgood, David (Anne) DeReu; nephews, Cameron, Calvin, and Jayce; and cousins, Nick Jones and Harry. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law, Michelle Boruff; step-father-in-law, Michael Boruff; brother-in-law, Samuel Overton. Kyle was preceded in death by grandparents, Harold DeReu and Phil & Joyce Osgood. A service to celebrate Kyle's life will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Monroe Central High School Gymnasium, 1878 N 1000 W., Parker City, IN 47368, with Pastor Steve Connor officiating. Burial services will be private. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 30th, at the school's gymnasium. Memorial contributions may be made to Tyler Osgood or Farmland Volunteer Fire Department. Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
