Laura Hill Obituary

Laura M. Hill was a beacon of generosity, reliability, love, and empathy, whose radiant spirit touched everyone she met. Born on December 19, 1957, in Winchester, Indiana, Laura filled her 66 years with unyielding devotion to family, friends, and her beloved canine companions, Bullett, Jiggs and Jake. A 1976 graduate of Randolph Southern High School, her industrious nature led her to a fulfilling career on the assembly line at Whirlpool of Greenville.

She dedicated her life to hard work until her retirement in 2020, yet her most cherished occupation was that of a loving daughter, sister, and friend. Laura's life was a tapestry woven with threads of simple joys and profound love. Her days were often spent fishing, feeding the ducks at Greenville Park, and showering affection on her dogs. Maya Angelou once said, “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Laura embodied this wisdom, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she cherished. Her selfless wish was to depart this world with the reassurance that her family would continue to shower her mother with love.

Laura leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. She is survived by her mother, Hazel Kenworthy; sister, Steva (Roger) Tucker; brother, Kevin (Lavetta) Kenworthy; sister, Yolanda O'Malley; brother, Joseph Kenworthy; sister, Lucretia Kenworthy; half-sister, Anna (David) Bey; half-sister, Leslie (John) Fourman; half-sister, Renea Thornbury; half-brother, David II; step-mother, Ruth Kenworthy; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dogs, Bullett, Jiggs and Jake. She was preceded in death by her father, David Kenworthy; sister, Kathie Heidenreich; sister, Cynthia Honeycutt; and brother, Dana Kenworthy.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm EST at the Wilson-Shook Funeral Homes And Cremation Center (Thomas Memorial Chapel), located at 108 East Sherman St., Lynn, IN 47355.
