Linda Sue North, born on April 24, 1951, in Winchester, Indiana, passed away on June 17, 2023. A proud lifelong resident of Winchester, Linda was a shining example of what it means to live a life full of love, dedication, and service to others. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Linda's heart was always open, and she touched the lives of countless people throughout her 72 years.
Linda graduated from Winchester High School in 1969, and later retired from the FCC of Portland in 2017 after many years of dedicated work in quality control. On June 7, 1969, Linda married her beloved husband, John North, and together they built a beautiful life and family. Linda was an active member of the Winchester Church of the Nazarene and the Randolph County Historical Society, always eager to contribute her time and talents to her community. She also had a passion for genealogy, which allowed her to explore and preserve her family's history for future generations.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, John North; her mother, Marilyn Kolp; her children, Gary (Christina) North, Angie (Randy) Edwards, and Cheryl (Tony) Gehret; her siblings, Don (Debbie) Kolp II, Krista Fogle, Kathy (Bernie) Fraze, and Melanie (Gary) Anderson; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Don Kolp.
A visitation for Linda will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 10:00 am at the Winchester First Church of the Nazarene, located at 403 South Main Street, Winchester, Indiana, 47394. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am at the church.
In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived, this is to have succeeded." Linda's life was a true success, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. We encourage friends and family to share memories and upload photos to Linda's memorial page, celebrating her life and the indelible impact she left on those around her. www.wilsonshookfh.com
