Marjorie Ellen Caldwell, 82, of Muncie, IN passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022 at IU Health, Ball Memorial Hospital of Muncie, IN. She was born October 5, 1940, in Parker City, IN, the daughter of John William and Genevieve (Privett) Hovis.
Marjorie retired around 1993. She had worked for 13 years at Anchor Hocking then spent several years working as a nurses aide at Parker Health and Rehabilitation before leaving to be an in home nurses aide. She enjoyed spending her leisure time reading, working puzzles and crocheting. She had attended church at Maxville Christian Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Dolph “Bill” Cox (wife, Judy) of Winchester, IN; two step-sons, Chris Caldwell (wife, Susie) and David Caldwell (wife, Lee), all of Winchester, IN; a step-daughter, Angela Timmons (husband, Tim) of Ohio; two brothers, Robert Hovis of Connersville, IN and Edwin Hovis (wife, Vickie) of Bluffton, IN; a sister-in-law, Barbara Hovis; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a husband, Darrell Caldwell; four brothers, William, Marion, Wesley and Paul; three sisters, Mary, Margaret and Helen; a son, Gregory Cox; and a grandchild, Mitchell Cox.
A service to celebrate Marjorie’s life will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2022 at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery of Maxville, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 12:00 p.m. to service time, at the funeral home.
