Mary DuVall Obituary

Mary Mae DuVall, 98, of Farmland, IN, passed away early Friday, December 16, 2022 at IU Health, Ball Memorial Hospital of Muncie, IN. She was born August 28, 1924 in Farmland, the daughter of Leo Aubrey and Goldie Mae (Andrews) DeVoss. Mary Mae was a 1942 graduate of Green Township High School. She received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Ball State Teachers College of Muncie, IN. She retired in 1996 after working 15 years as a Case Manager for Randolph County Welfare Office. She had previously worked 30 years teaching home economics. Mary Mae was a member of the Farmland United Methodist Church, Busy Homemakers Extension Club, Randolph County Retired Teachers Association and was a charter member Delta Kappa Gamma Society. She enjoyed spending her leisure time sewing, gardening raising house plants and traveling. She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Cy Duvall (Therese) of Corydon, IN; Grandson, Olivier Sednek (fiance', Paige Dunn) of Ramsey, IN; nieces, Dianna Shore (Randy) of Farmland, IN, Sherry DeVoss of Farmland, IN., Mary Beth Evers of Noblesville, IN, and Janet Rakes of Boiling Springs, PA; nephews, Joe DeVoss (Suzanne) of Grapevine, Arlington, TX, Melvin DeVoss (Seline) of Granberry, TX, John DeVoss (Kim) of Farmland, IN, Bill Evers III (Sherry) of Fishers, IN and Robert Evers (Melody) of Knoxville, TN; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Donova and John DeVoss; sister, Martha Delight Evers. A service to celebrate Mary's life will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Burial will follow in Strong Cemetery of Albany, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 20th, at the funeral home.
