Meredith James Obituary

Meredith Ann “Mickey” (Wright) James, age 84, of Anderson, passed away peacefully at home September 24 after an extended illness. Mickey was born October 22, 1937 in Richmond to Myron and Edna Lucille (Hutchins) Wright. She married Rex V. James in 1956, and he preceded her in death in 2014. She graduated in 1955 from Stoney Creek High School in Randolph County. She graduated from and taught Comptometer School in Indianapolis. Mickey worked as homemaker, volunteered for the Paramount Theatre restoration, and was employed at Monroe Central High School, Franklin Elementary School and Anderson/Madison County Visitors and Convention Bureau. Mickey was active in the Stoney Creek Alumni Association, Women’s Republican Club, American Business Women’s Association, and Franklin Little League. Meredith is survived by her two children, Julie Kay (Robert) Craig of Anderson, and J. Eric James of Keller, Texas; her brother, Mack (Judy) Wright of Farmland; grandchildren Joseph (Ashley) Champagne of Fortville, Caelen Craig of Anderson, and Alexander (mother Christie) James of Keller, TX; nephews, Chad (Jana) Wright of Farmland, Ted (Jeni) Wright of St. Michael, MN, and Jeremy (Cathy) Wright of Wabash; Sister-in-Law Clarice (Richard) Lee of Daniel Island, SC; Cousins Tom (Anita) James of Parker City, and Mindy (Lee) Brammer of Farmland; several great nieces, nephews, cousins, and Carrie Young of Denton, TX. She is also survived by all of her “kids” from Monroe Central, Franklin Elementary and Franklin Little League. Along with her husband, Rex and her parents, Mickey was preceded in death by her sister Mary Jane Wright; grandparents Ira Mack and Lillie Wright and Hurma (Schaefer) Parker; and granddaughter Rachel Pauline See. The family would like to thank Drs. Hatimi and Reddy and their staffs at Community Hospital for their dedication and Compassus Hospice for their support. A private funeral service will be held at Buena Vista Cemetery, Farmland. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, September 30th at 5-8PM at the Anderson Firefighter’s Lodge 105 W. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013.
