Nita Short, 60, of Winchester, IN passed away peacefully at her residence with family by her side, Sunday late afternoon, October 31, 2021. She was born July 14, 1961 in Winchester, IN the daughter of Thomas Terrell “Bud” and Betty (Bosworth) Sickels. She was a 1979 graduate of Randolph Southern High School and later attended Cosmetology School.
Nita enjoyed spending her leisure time gardening, being outdoors, going to the lake with Beth, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Betty; a loving husband of 35 years, Larry; a son, Kainan Short (wife, Thursa) of Ridgeville, IN; two daughters, Cybill Schwieterman (husband, Scott) of Ridgeville, IN and Shantel Short of Greenwood, IN; two sisters, Sondra Myers (husband, John) of Winchester, IN, Sharon Seerley (husband, Steve) of Modoc; a sister-in-law, Jody Sickels of Winchester, IN; and four grandchildren, Toby, Theron, Klay and Kali. She was preceded in death by her father, Bud Sickels; and a brother, Ned.
A memorial service to celebrate Nita’s life will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Cremation entombment will be in Fountain Park Cemetery of Winchester, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 1:00 p.m. to service time. Saturday, November 6th.
