Phyllis Joyce Collins, 94, formerly of Farmland, IN passed away early Saturday morning, September 17, 2022, at Brown County Health and Living Center of Nashville, IN. She was born November 16, 1927, in Richmond, IN, the daughter of Paul and Mary (Dennis) Cook.
Phyllis graduated from Knightstown High School and Indiana Central Beauty School. She had worked as a beautician for more than 25 years. Following her years of working as a beautician she worked in food service at Ball State University.
She was a member of the Farmland Friends Church; former member of the Farmland Fire Auxiliary; Farmland Economics Club and Farmland Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending her leisure time gardening and cooking.
She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Dennis Collins (wife, Julie) of Bloomington, IN; a daughter, Melanie Collins (Claire Scheele) of Martinsville, IN; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hobart; a brother, Beverly Oren Cook; and a sister, Evelyn Richards.
There will be only graveside services at 1:00 pm Saturday, September 24. No calling hours. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery of Farmland, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Farmland Friends Church. Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN has been entrusted with arrangements.
