Robert Joseph Tucker

Robert “Bud” Joseph Tucker, 81, of Muncie, IN passed away early Saturday morning, July 31, 2021 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital of Muncie, IN. He was born June 7, 1940 in Randolph County, IN the son of Robert William and Myrtle (Mock) Tucker. He was a 1958 graduate of Ridgeville High School.

Bud retired in 2003 after 25 years with Marsh Supermarkets. He had worked 19 years for Marhofer Packing Company of Muncie, IN. He was a member of the Local Teamsters. He enjoyed spending his leisure time attending his grandchildren’s events at school, working with his son racing cars and fishing while on his pontoon at Prairie Creek. He and his wife, Betty wintered 15 years in Bradenton, FL.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 62 years, Betty; a son, Robert Joseph Tucker, Jr. (wife, Linda) of Muncie, IN; a daughter, Tammy Hernly (husband, Dave) of Selma, IN; a brother, Dale Tucker (Wanda) of Apache Junction, AZ; a sister, Wilma Moyer of Ridgeville, IN; three grandchildren, Brandy Burris (husband, Chris) and BJ Tucker (wife, Rachel) and Lori Hardiman (husband, Kevin); seven great grandchildren, Tucker, Wyatt, Brenlee and Gracee Burris, Chesney Tucker, Jordan and Josh Hardiman; and one great great grandchild, Zane Hardiman. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, Bill Moyer.

A service to celebrate Bud’s life will be 12 noon Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Burial will follow in Lawndale Cemetery of Ridgeville, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 11 am to service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
