Ruth Ellen (Bisel) Shockney

Ruth Ellen Shockney, 91, of Farmland, IN passed-away early Monday, December 14, 2020 at Randolph Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Winchester, IN. She was born December 16, 1928 in Portland, IN the daughter of Elmer and Opal (Stullen) Bisel. Se was a 1946 graduate of Portland High School and had attended Ball State University.

Ruth retired as a Bookkeeper / Office Manager, from the family business, Shockney Seed Service, Inc. of Farmland, IN. She was a member of Eastern Star, Euchre Club and Farmland Christian Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Steve Shockney (wife, Rita) of Muncie, IN, Mark Shockney (wife, Kim) of Parker City, IN and Jeff Shockney (wife, Julie) of Farmland, IN; four grandchildren, Amanda Conaster (husband, Rodney) of Muncie, IN, Jesse Shockney (wife, Crystal) of Muncie, IN, David Shockney (wife, Valarie) and Michael Shockney (wife, Digna), all of Farmland, IN; eight grandchildren, Pete, John, Ryder, Kyla, Hayley, Caden, Braden and Jaxon; and a beloved canine companion, Sabrina.

Due to the concerns surrounding Covid-19, the family will be having private visitation and service. A public graveside service will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 at Woodlawn Cemetery of Maxville, IN with Rev. Dr. Gary Taylor officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Farmland Christian Church, 210 N. Main St., Farmland, IN 47340. Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
