Sadie Ruth Hegedus, 83, of Farmland, IN passed away peacefully, Friday, January 22, 2021 at her residence. She was born May 2, 1937 in Hyden, Kentucky, the daughter of Tom and Olvie (Wilson) Nantz. Ruth earned her Associates Degree from Ball State University and retired as Manager of Dietary Services after 25 years with Randolph County Hospital in Winchester, IN. She was a member of Selma Christ United Methodist Church of Selma, IN.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Debra Brown (Bill) of Montgomery, AL and Cheryl Fisher (Rick) of Fishers, IN; a step-son, Dennis Hegedus (Ann) of Chino Hills, CA; three sisters, Violet Nantz (Redkey, IN); Eunice Muncy (London, KY); and Sharon McCowan (Glen)(Redkey, IN); seven grandchildren, Lee Walls, Ashley Walls, Cory Fisher, Danielle Barden, Nicole Graber, Lindsey Swallows and Cody Brown; and eight great grandchildren.
The immediate family will have private services. A public graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Woodlawn Cemetery of Maxville, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at stjude.org. Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN has been entrusted with arrangements.
