Wiladean Helen (Claspell) King

Wiladean Helen King, 90, of Farmland, IN passed away Monday, November 22, 2021 at her residence, with loving family by her side. She was born September 15,1931 in North Grove, IN the daughter of Lewis Taylor and Grace Irene (Johnson) Claspell.

Wiladean retired from the parts department of Sheller Globe and had worked as an attendant with Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Winchester, IN where she was Relief Secretary Past President, Young Women’s Past President and Primary Past President. She had the heart of a servant, putting others before herself. Family and friends were most important and she enjoyed cooking for others.

She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Donald Devun King (wife, Peggy) of Muncie, IN, Robert Leon King (wife, Mary L) and Steve Mills (wife, Christina) of Tuscon, AZ; two brothers, John Claspell and Charles Claspell (wife, Kitty), all of Muncie, IN; three sisters, Mildred Ridge of Muncie, IN, Reba Burgess of Bumpass, VA and Mary Derringer of Anderson, IN; grandchildren, Chucky Huser, Chad Huser (wife, Mindy), Chiper Huser (wife, Missy), Chason Huser, Christina Claspell, Zachary King (wife, Katy), Chanda Jo Fouseridge (wife, Cheri), Kimmie Barndollar and Shannon Thornburg; 13 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; a husband, Donald; a son, Richard Lee King; a daughter, Donna Jean Petty; three brothers, James, Ogal and Paul Claspell; and two sisters, Berdena Lynch and Naomi Ruth Claspell.

A graveside service to celebrate Wiladean’s life will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Hopewell Cemetery, north of Farmland, IN, with Keith Williams as celebrant. Wiladean’s request was to be cremated. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the LDS Latter-day Saints Winchester Branch.
