William Donald Richardson

September 5, 1952 ~ September 8, 2023 (age 71) 71 Years Old

Obituary

It is with a mixture of sorrow and joy that we remember the exceptional life of William Donald Richardson, also known as the man who could make any engine purr like a kitten and who never met a joke he didn't like. Born on September 5, 1952, in Muncie, Indiana, William spent an impressive 47 years as a beloved member of the Farmland community. His time in Farmland was marked by his compassionate soul, his loyal friendships, and, not least of all, his witty sense of humor.

William was a bus driver by trade, safely chauffeuring the future of Farmland to and from school for 17 eventful years. Outside of work, his passions were manifold. Whether he was under the hood of a car, behind the wheel at a racing event, or cheering on his favorite basketball and football teams, William was always engaged in life. His love for his hobbies was only surpassed by his love for his family and friends. As Mark Twain once said, "The secret of success is making your vocation your vacation." For William, working on cars was not just a hobby, but a passion that brought joy to his life and those around him.

William leaves behind a loving family, including his mother, Georgia Hart; twin sister, Kathy (Charles) Hutson; sisters, Jennifer (Michael) Jellison, and Kelly (Lonnie) Boyce; step-brother Michael (Kaye) Hart; niece Kristi (James) Barnes; special friends and caregivers, Randy and Tammy Bousman; a god-son, Trever Garrison; several cousins, and a multitude of friends. His father Hubert Richardson and step-mother Ilah Richardson preceded him in death.

In a world where you can be anything, William chose to be kind, loving, and funny. He was a cherished son, a loyal brother, and a dedicated friend. His laughter and love will echo in our hearts and minds forever. As William's life beautifully exemplified, "In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years."
